I know it’s Whisker’s on Wednesday. Tobey looks about the same, but he’s still not feeling well. I let him out of sick bay for awhile, but after he rewarded me with bad behavior, back in he went. You know when they don’t meow or bang the door they really are sick. I’ve called the doc and still no results back yet. I’ll keep you all posted. Appreciate all the positive thoughts for sure.

On knitting news, I casted on the rib warmer and it’s clicking along. I’m reading Sense and Sensibility with the Ravelry Austen Book Club and this is my first project with them. Fun for sure. The discussions have been wonderful and insightful.

Sorry about these pictures folks. We’ve had nothing buy overcast/rainy days around here. I’ve switched to working mornings and by the time I get home in the afternoon, I feel like I’ve got about 10 minutes of daylight to work with.

Another Rib Warmer

I promise I will get a FO picture with it on, but here it is first. It looks much better on than on the hanger, so to speak.

This is such a fun, mindless, rhythm knit when you need to just relax in front of the TV. I can’t wait to knit another of these.

In the mail, I got the new spinning book

Unfortunately, the cover was totally ripped off. So I sent it back and they overnighted me a new one. It is very interesting. I have to say inspiring. I’m not sure I would work in old cassette tape and other oddities, but it is interesting.

Making Hay While The Sun Shines

So it’s been a stressful few days with a lot more work than I’m used to, but like Mom used to say – you gotta make hay while the sun shines. I did manage to get some knitting in last night on my next rib warmer, but I have to get my wheel back out and do some serious spinning. I have group tonight, so it will be more knitting as I don’t want to drag my wheel to work and all the way around, but at least the rib warmer is coming out nicely. I did more slip stitches on this one to make it a prettier edging. I like this, but I may try to slip them knit-wise on the next one and see which I like better.

Madison was very happy that I paid homage to her beautiful coloring with this vest, and thinks it’s turning out quite lovely. I need to get a good picture with her pretty green eyes – this one looks to yellow and doesn’t do her justice.

One Half

So one half of the EZ vest is done. Exciting I know… other then a little spinning and getting my sketch book out for design ideas… it’s been all business around here. Knit, knit and then knit a little more…

Made the Turn

I made the second turn and am now coming up the back on the Rib Warmer vest. This has been my latest mindless knitting – activity. I’m also hoping to have this one out next week as well.

Holiday Knitting Continues

So let’s see, I have to have everything mailed by the 18th at the latest…. hmm this is going to be interesting.

I’m doing one rib warmer – this is the white yarn I spun using Paula’s method of spinning with softness and speed. It ended up in a dye pot last week and became this beautiful blue, which is slightly variegated.

I can already tell you the next time I make this pattern and I will because it’s simple, fun and will be super cozy… I will slip the first stitch of each row to get a nice smooth edge.

Next are the Selbuvotter mitts. This is pattern 9 made out of Falk.

I love these mittens… hopefully they won’t come out too small. I’m right on gauge.
