This weekend we had not one but two shows around here. Friday we went to the WI Sheep and Wool. I got lots of great goodies and had a great time. I brought this great yarn. The picture does not do the color justice. I can’t wait to wind it and make it into something [...] When I went to the Estonian Lace Knitting Class with Nancy Bush a few months ago, Nancy talked about the Greta Garbo shawl, which is the first shawl after the cover that you see in the first edition – it was fixed in the next editions.
It didn’t make the book due [...] Today was the very lovely mohair festival. This little festival just makes a nice day out. There are two nearby yarn shops that just is icing on the cake. One of the lady’s always has a very hard to resist sock yarn selection and I found myself adding to the stash today. What do [...] Could it be possible that yarn is involved in the law of attraction? I was starting to think I want to knit an Aran sweater, but I didn’t necessarily want to spin the yarn. I was thinking I needed a yarn fix, but couldn’t really find a color or price I liked. The only thing [...] I had such a fun time this weekend. Like I said this year has been a roller coaster. One minute I’m all woe and the next minute I’m having a blast. Friday night I went to the pizza party and the talk with Nancy Bush. This was awesome and we all got to fondle socks [...] So today started off early as both DH and I got up and got going to head out to The Fold for the annual sale. Dawn and I wanted to be first one’s in and hurry up to get our purchases done and get out. If you haven’t been there for the sale it’s total [...] Yeah! I’ve had a whirlwind two days already of celebrating my birthday and it’s been great. Actually it started Thursday night when DH gave me my first gift – a iPod Touch. Totally spoiling me of course. Friday I headed out with Beverly, Vera and Dawn. Dawn and I share the same birthday. Happy Birthday [...] So it seems like all of the LYS’s are having sales or have had sales recently. It’s really hard to not buy anything when you see deals like 40% and 60% off. Now everyone who knows me, knows I love natural fibers, but sometimes a girl needs bling. Since Coco is going to be in [...] So today was the best day for The Fold’s annual Summer Solstice Sale. I took the day off and went with a couple of friends for a stash enhancement exercise. All the soft goods were 30% off, except for the STR. I had to have one skein of that anyway, because it was in a [...] Well this wasn’t planned, but both sets of fibers I sent out came home today. I knew last week my recent purchases at the NH S&W fest were on their way home all processed and ready for spinning. Spinderella’s out did herself again. Everything looks wonderful and a what a fast processing and shipping time. [...] |
