Poor Max needs a top knot trim. Every groomer we’ve had loves to leave his top knot high. The only problem is it falls over when it gets to long. They have a standing appointment at the groomer every 4-weeks. This time its 5-weeks because they have a dog show to go to, so their [...] A few weeks ago Julie sent me some wool and alpaca to card and blend together. I finally finished it today and it’s ready to wing it’s way back to her. Jasmine had to help. Every time I get my make shift light box out she’s kitty on the spot. Sweet Pea had to be [...] Remember this roving… So 4 ounces has become approximately 550 yards of this lace weight yarn. Not exactly what I expected. It’s more brown than I thought it would be, but still lovely. I’m thinking the next 4 ounces should be socks – a nice 3-ply. I don’t think I need anymore of this in [...] I feel like I start projects and they really just languish too long. I tell myself I have rotation, but really is that the truth or am I easily distracted…or worse yet the big L word – Lazy? I finally decided that I needed to finish some spindle spinning and get the plying done. I [...] So at the NH Sheep and Wool, I acquired a a new spinning wheel – a cute little Roadbug. Madison is helping today and giving you a size reference. She’s average cat size. I really wanted a tiny travel wheel. One that would be easier transport and be plane friendly. I did bring it on [...] OK – I think this is officially the cutest spindle ever. It’s so tiny and yet so useful. Gorgeous black palm wood and bocote shaft – only .6 ounces. It spins fast and I can get a lace weight. It fits in the palm of your hand or in your pocket. Up close of [...] The Easter Bunny brought me a new iPad. I’m not sure this will cure my library habit. Having an e-reader is definitely new to me and we’ll see how my reading habits evolve. I found it funny that this weekend I also spent time with the Respect the Spindle DVD and worked on my spinning. [...] I do actually try to spin with a project in mind. However, sometimes the yarn seems to have a mind of it’s own. I spun this gorgeous Cormo x 3 ply and it seems to be thicker than I thought. I originally planned to make the Tasha Shawl out of this one, but now I’m [...] For some reason I got a crazy idea and joined the Ravelympics. I’m in the Fleece to FO Track.
