Thank you Debbi for the gorgeous socks. I got them in the mail today and ripped the package open and put them right on. I will really enjoy them. The pattern is Debbi’s very own design – Lady Olivia Lace. The yarn is Ivy Brambles Echo Lake. I’m down to the heel and I’m hoping to get through the gusset today. I hope that my Silly Sock Swap Pal likes these socks. They will probably have to wait until next winter to wear them as if you remember they are solid wool and going to be warm. For some reason I got a crazy idea and joined the Ravelympics. I’m in the Fleece to FO Track. I’d been wanting to spin for another pair of socks and (a) it was a good time to motivate me to do this and (b) I thought this would be fun for my Silly Sock Swap. [...] So here we go… I finished up a pair of basic socks with some yarn I dyed a while ago. These have been hanging on for ages and ages, since I just worked on them a minute here and there. The eternal car sock project. Well… that feels good. Also I’ve completed a few dishcloths. [...] Since I had nearly a whole ball left after finishing Gretel, I decided that I needed to make a pair of Fetching. You know…the ones that everyone has made. I have to say – the more I work with this KnitPicks yarn – the more I’m liking it. I can see a gorgeous, cozy sweater [...] I finished up two pairs of socks this week. These are just my basic simple sock knitting recipe, with afterthought heels. I have a love/hate relationship with afterthought heels. I followed the recipe, but it seems I have a short heel. So I pulled back and only went down to 16 stitches on each side [...] I can’t believe it’s been more than a week since I posted. Whoops. I feel like I’ve been everywhere. I know there’s just so much going on, but for the life of me I don’t know what. Last night I gave a talk/demo on spinning to the Hononegah Women’s group. We all had a blast. [...] We had a beautiful Saturday Day – a little cool – but lovely. Perfect for socks. Here’s an update on my plain socks I’m working on. I’ve casted on the second sock to all and making good progress on the one – to get it done. Have to say I really don’t care for this [...] I know it’s been a week since I posted. Shame on me, but I’ve been conserving energy for a good reason. I’ve been feeling a little run down lately. I swear my office is filled to the brim with cold and flu bugs and even some knitting friends seem to have come down with it [...]  |
