I had painting postcards on my to do list for a while now. I got some lovely art cards from folks at the International Union of Mail Artists and I wanted to make sure I got cards back to reciprocate. Since it was a beautiful day today, I felt like sitting on the porch [...] The annual spring trip to Julie’s was once again a success. We always plan far in advance and we try to pack in so many things it definitely qualifies as a whirlwind trip. The first day we headed out to Fruitlands which was awesome. Unfortunately the power was out so we couldn’t see any exhibits, [...] Guess who is two today? Happy Birthday Coco. Still cute as ever. So I’m still recuperating from my big adventure out East. I’ve just uploaded all the pictures and will get some updates shortly. If you didn’t know – I’m a bug lover. Bugs, butterflies, frogs, toads, I’ve even picked up the occasional garden snake in the garden. I used to feed the birds, but between the Coopers Hawks and the Eagles – they made me nervous to let Coco out. Anyhoo, I noticed on Friday that there was [...] When DH and I moved in almost 5 years ago we loved the gardens here at Chez Purl. However, we found them to be much too intensive for our gardening ability. Imagine how relieved I felt when I scored the number to a reliable gardener from a friend recently. He was able to spruce us [...] Thank you Debbi for the gorgeous socks. I got them in the mail today and ripped the package open and put them right on. I will really enjoy them. The pattern is Debbi’s very own design – Lady Olivia Lace. The yarn is Ivy Brambles Echo Lake. The Easter Bunny brought me a new iPad. I’m not sure this will cure my library habit. Having an e-reader is definitely new to me and we’ll see how my reading habits evolve. I found it funny that this weekend I also spent time with the Respect the Spindle DVD and worked on my spinning. [...] I do actually try to spin with a project in mind. However, sometimes the yarn seems to have a mind of it’s own. I spun this gorgeous Cormo x 3 ply and it seems to be thicker than I thought. I originally planned to make the Tasha Shawl out of this one, but now I’m [...] So I finally got my very own cuddly sheep from Maine Warmers. They are running a special this month and I’ve always wanted one. My arm gets a little sore every now and again and it’s perfect. Also a perfect foot warmer for bed.  |
