So I worked up to the very last minute to get this one done for our Prairie Women’s meeting. I’m so enjoying this 2 hours of my month. We have a little one this month that I’ll be putting together soon. I spy one of my make-do’s this month… top center… [...] Just need to finish the borders and do the quilting. Last Saturday I took a Lunch and Quilt at Quilter’s General Store. It’s always an excellent time there and this was no exception. The food and company were awesome, but I also learned how to do one of the dreaded “Y” seams. Our pattern is Star in a Star from the book Star Savvy, which [...] So last Friday Cindy, Dawn, Leah, and I headed north to Madison. First off we hit Jerry’s Sew ‘n Vac where Dawn and I had some gift cards to burn. I picked up a roller foot and a curved piecing foot. My friend Julie turned me onto the curved piecing foot. I had never heard [...] Making good progress on my Mary Ellen’s Garden wool applique project. Well, it’s a busy, busy winter around here. I’m also doing the Prairie Women’s Sewing circle and managed to complete the first project, which is these gorgeous stars. This also needs a border. I’m seeing a trend. Notice I have a couple yellows in the corner. Well those are make do’s and that is [...] I bought a Japanese fabric kit for a Trailing Diamonds pattern. Since Lesley was offering a class, I decided to take it just to get my kit out and cut it up. I thought it might motivate me to get it done. Once I got into it was so simple I couldn’t stop. I have [...] I know it’s been nearly a month, but it’s been a super busy creative time. After I took the first feather class, I decided to make the first project which was a circle quilt. This was a lot of fun as I pieced some scraps up, cut, and then re-pieced. It’s a little busy, which [...] Saturday I took a FMQ feathers class at Acorn Quilts. I sat down and pulled out some pretty thread yesterday to give it another go and it was much better than my first attempt. I’m going to be practicing feathers all this week and working on getting a circular sampler done to feather quilt. [...] Bonding with my new Faygo Kitty machine meant I was able to work on more blocks of my Farmer’s Wife project. Four new blocks have been added to the tally.
