The Parrots Return

Slowly. I have not been a slacker though… much.  Coming soon – Lace weight handspun yarn (I think 550 yards – but I need to put it through the meter), a pair of socks, and a slug.

Another Parrot Update

Moving along… I was able to finish the leaves in the area, the beak, and the eye.  I especially like the way the beak turned out. I then switched to do the leaves and acorns in the corner.  You can see I went wild again with the French knots.

The Parrots Continue

This project is really addictive.  The leaves are getting easier and the acorns… don’t get me started on the acorns.  Those are so much fun, I couldn’t put this down until 1 am last night.  I absolutely love the french knots. Now let me tell you about my MagEyes.  These are the. Best. Invention. Ever.  [...]

A Leaf, A Berry and A Stem

Well as you can see I’m still working on my Parrots.  I finished a leaf, a stem and re-did the berry. If you notice I also fixed the wing on the lower right hand corner – in the white.  It looks much more robust now.

The Wing

So back to English Crewel… I finished the wing. Of course now that I look at this picture I notice that it needs just one more stitch in the upper right hand corner.  I will get that next and then instead of finishing the beak and eye right this moment, I’m going to do some [...]

English Crewel

I just got back from a fabulous weekend.  Last Wednesday I headed out to my hometown – Detroit -  for a dual purpose visit.  I got to see my Mom and I got to take a fabulous 2-day workshop with Phillipa Turnball.  It was hosted at the Edsel and Eleanor Ford house, which is designed [...]

Crewel Problems

So I’m still trying to complete the crewel sampler project that I have been working on… oh for the last many months.  I’m forcing myself to finish this before I start a new project.  This is actually the practice before the sampler.  However, I don’t seem to work on it very often and when I [...]

Low Creativity

Dang I’m in a knitting funk.  I’m hoping to find it this weekend.  Ugh.  I’m probably just feeling sulky because I am going to miss Rhinebeck tomorrow.  Even though I have more than enough, I’m going to miss fondling all the nice fleeces. I did get my crewel workbook.  I’ve been spending time studying all [...]

Bed

Over the years we have had had various cat and dog beds.  One kitty who shall remain nameless would sometimes find herself in the position where she could not walk by one of said beds without marking it as her territory. With that said, we pick up the dog beds each night and get them [...]

Packing

So I’m packing up my knitting bag for tomorrow trying to decide what projects I should be taking. DH has to go to work early tomorrow, so I have to catch the early bus, which is just fine as the weather looks like it may be ugly. I just hope the storms hold off until [...]
