Sorry it’s been at least a fortnight. I’ve been busy healing. First of look at this lovely plant that my friend Dawn gave me after my surgery. Then I also got a lovely tea cozy as a get well soon gift from Julie. Finally there has been spinning… I had to sit [...] Remember when Julie and I picked up these fleeces at NH Sheep and Wool about a month ago? Well after the show they winged their way to Spinderella’s in Utah. After about a month stay, where they were washed and carded into beautiful roving, they winged their back home. Both Julie and I received our [...] As long as I’ve been spinning I’ve been trying to spin specific, meaning for a specific project. Alas, I sometimes still fall short. Or in the process it just magically decides it wants to be something else. Yeah, that’s it. This is beautiful and I had a good time playing with my Very Fast [...] The summer I purchased my Lendrum I ended up taking several spinning classes, a few lace. For some reason I thought I would “need” the very fast flyer. I purchased it and took it to the class, where it sat unused. Then I brought it home and it sat unused. Fast forward two years and [...] Wow – so I tried upgrading my blog myself to WordPress 2.71. Whoops… well that didn’t go so well. I totally and I mean totally broke the blog. Thank goodness I had been doing backup’s nightly and had the old version. I put the old version back on, restored, and then found an awesome plugin [...] So one of the good things about being out at The Fold several days this past week, I got to browse all of the new goodies that are there. I picked out a beautiful new Charis spindle in leopard wood.
Of course you need lovely merino silk to spin on a beautiful [...] We’ve all had it happen. We look at a ball of yarn and make a decision and declare it will be this, only to find out the yarn wants to be something entirely different. This is what happened with some yarn I spun over the holidays. The Meret beret got frogged and now it’s becoming [...] I spent some weekend time spinning more of Pia’s Fleece. I have about another 160 yards of 3-ply. I love this squishy, soft yarn… yum. This week blew by. I can’t believe it’s Friday already. I must be in a high creative time because I’ve been crafting up a storm lately. Here’s some examples – 175 yards of Aran to bulky weight of lovely CormoX – Pia. I want to make the Truly Tasha Shawl. I’m thinking this is going [...] My first finished object of the new year. A cute little spinning wheel bag for all those goodies you need handy while spinning. On the Lendrum…
