So 4 ounces has become approximately 550 yards of this lace weight yarn.
Not exactly what I expected. It’s more brown than I thought it would be, but still lovely. I’m thinking the next 4 ounces should be socks – a nice [...] So at the NH Sheep and Wool, I acquired a a new spinning wheel – a cute little Roadbug. Madison is helping today and giving you a size reference. She’s average cat size. I really wanted a tiny travel wheel. One that would be easier transport and be plane friendly. I did bring it [...] OK – I think this is officially the cutest spindle ever. It’s so tiny and yet so useful. Gorgeous black palm wood and bocote shaft – only .6 ounces. It spins fast and I can get a lace weight. It fits in the palm of your hand or in your pocket.
Up [...] The Easter Bunny brought me a new iPad. I’m not sure this will cure my library habit. Having an e-reader is definitely new to me and we’ll see how my reading habits evolve. I found it funny that this weekend I also spent time with the Respect the Spindle DVD and worked on my [...] I do actually try to spin with a project in mind. However, sometimes the yarn seems to have a mind of it’s own. I spun this gorgeous Cormo x 3 ply and it seems to be thicker than I thought. I originally planned to make the Tasha Shawl out of this one, but now [...] For some reason I got a crazy idea and joined the Ravelympics. I’m in the Fleece to FO Track. I’d been wanting to spin for another pair of socks and (a) it was a good time to motivate me to do this and (b) I thought this would be fun for my Silly Sock Swap. [...] I know…these titles. Sometimes I’m at a complete loss for a decent title. I meant to post these this week, but I have two work projects now and a bunch of things going on like my Fundamentals in Fiction class, which is going really well and I got some awesome feedback from my instructor this [...] We had a beautiful Saturday today and I managed to get out to the Rock ‘n Knitter’s group knitting group. Bev got a picture of me in my La Novia – handspun yarn. I had to have my own pin with it and I love how it turned out. Finally I finished up [...] Sorry it’s been at least a fortnight. I’ve been busy healing. First of look at this lovely plant that my friend Dawn gave me after my surgery. Then I also got a lovely tea cozy as a get well soon gift from Julie.
