So one of the the great treasures in Detroit is Pewabic Pottery. It’s a style unto itself and after seeing a tile above a sink at the Fisher Mansion (another treasure), I was quite smitten. My own father was a tile man, doing beautiful designs in tile and marble and I’ve have to admit always being smitten with the art.
I didn’t make it to Pewabic this time, but I did manage to acquire a lovely frog from the Edsel and Eleanore Ford house. It was a toss up between the frog and the Tudor Rose, which was also lovely, but the painting on the frog really spoke to me. I felt like he could jump off the lily pad he was sitting on.
