When we get in the depths of winter, I start to dream about warm summer days. In my dreams…warm summer days always include cherry pie – one of my favorites. DH came home with two cans of cherries the other day and it was time for pie.
The girls had their first taste of catnip here. They are going to love the big catnip bush that grows wild outside every summer.
I have finished another hat – the flapper one and it is so dang cute. I’m going to have to make one for myself. I was on my way out this morning to get some things to finish it up when I came across one man walking and one man in a car trailing him. He claimed to be selling tree services. Hmmm… seemed fishy to me, so I pulled back into the garage and called the police.
My instinct was screaming at me that something just wasn’t right. Now there are a lot of branches down around here, but it seemed more like they were casing houses on a cold Tuesday morning than looking for trees to cut down. I ended up staying home for the rest of the day. I’ll get that hat embellished eventually.

Stuff like that (the guys casing houses) freaks me out, I’m always worried about things like that, especially because we live right next to an interstate and someone could break in and be gone in no time. My 85 pound Angry Dog Alarm system probably works as a deterrent to an extent.
I’m also dreaming of summer days, it seems that once winter really sets in, I can’t think, can’t talk, can’t get the motivation to do anything.

We had a similar situation here on Monday. A man came around claiming to be from an alarm company asking if we were still subscribing to our current company. Totally freaked me out. I don’t know if the hubby ever contacted the police or not.
Very, very nice pie.
Most of my cats didn’t like catnip but Marlo… she was embarrassing to watch, especially the first time. Wow, did she ever love that stuff!
The pie looks d’lish! I may have to pull out some of my summer blueberries and make a pie later this week. Will you hear anything back from the police about the dodgy guys?
