Morning

So I finally slept well last night.  I haven’t been sleeping well since Jack passed.  I’ve been worried that (a) it might be FIP, which I mentioned is contagious to the other cats and (b) that I didn’t do enough for Jack.  Every time I shut my eyes I kept seeing his little face.  I would walk around the house and see him sitting here and there, happily pulling his funny stunts.  In grief, nighttime is always the worse for me.  The quiet at night gets me every time, so I can’t fall into bed until I’m completely exhausted.

Finally we got the call from the vet last night and Jack’s test returned from Auburn University.  They reported back that it wasn’t FIP.  It appears that he had cancer.  This is why drugs were clearing up the infection, but he wasn’t getting well.  I feel much better now.  Now we know the right thing was done for Jack.  I’ll still be very sad and miss him something awful, but comforted that he is not suffering now.  If I didn’t respond back to your email from the last post, I’m sorry.  I spent time knitting, watching movies, reading and writing.

Now that’s two kitties that have passed from the big C in 6 months.  We’re testing again for Radon.  I expect that it was just a coincidence, but just in case.

So, I was up early this morning and got a picture as the sun was just coming up.

I hope you all have a very peaceful day.
