I finished up two pairs of socks this week.
These are just my basic simple sock knitting recipe, with afterthought heels.
I have a love/hate relationship with afterthought heels. I followed the recipe, but it seems I have a short heel.
So I pulled back and only went down to 16 stitches on each side and then kitchenered it together. That worked out great.
I figure I either had to do that or I will have to start knitting the foot shorter. Right now I knit the foot 5 inches before the toe. I wear a standard size US 7.

LOL Love the heel “flap”.
I don’t get why folks think toe up is easier because you can try the sock on… I try it on cuff down. I think in either direction the key is learning how much room you need to leave for each component of the sock and once you know that you’re all set. At least I’ve done both ways now so I can say that with confidence.
