I tried to get the different colors at dusk tonight. This turned out ok, but I think I may need more practice.

So I had no idea what to do with the cabbage that came with our CSA box. I was going to do coleslaw, but it’s been such a cool summer that I’ve been having a taste for some soup. So I found this great recipe for carrot, potato, and cabbage soup. It was quite yummy. It was very light and DH pronounced it very good.
I also was at a loss for what to do with some young turnips when my friend Sara who is sharing the CSA box with us mentioned the turnip apple salad. Let’s just say this was very yummy and was gone in a flash.
Yum, that soup looks delicious! Cabbage is also good cook with some apple and served with pork or there’s the colcannon type dish with cabbage white potato and ham. I don’t think I’ve had turnips in a salad like that before, something new to try!
So that’s what I can do with turnips huh? Thanks for the idea! I’ll have to try the soup too that looks yummy.
I do a CSA but it’s more of a debit process instead of the basket method. Last Saturday at market it was all about the heirloom tomatoes and Armenian cucumbers!
