Yeah! I’ve had a whirlwind two days already of celebrating my birthday and it’s been great. Actually it started Thursday night when DH gave me my first gift – a iPod Touch. Totally spoiling me of course.
Friday I headed out with Beverly, Vera and Dawn. Dawn and I share the same birthday. Happy Birthday Dawn! We headed out for a day at The Fold, lunch and then to see Twilight.
Here is my haul at The Fold.
Dawn has the ultimate color sense, so she helped me pick out these colors, except for the pink which will be socks. Let’s just say they’ve gotten some new gorgeous stuff in at The Fold and it was really tough to choose. She got in all these Easter Egg color corriedale roving. It’s too dang gorgeous and that’s why I had to pull out that pink.
Dawn and Beverly totally surprised me with some yarn I admired at Fish Bed Emporium.
This is one of the best yarn shops in the area. She had super cute one or two skein projects made up (with free patterns) around the store with the yarns she has and is so super excited to show you everything – it’s totally infectious. However, that day I was good and held off as we were headed to Midwest Fiber Show. They remembered my lust over this yarn and bought both of the colors I admired and put them in the cutest kitty bag.
So cute. Thank you so much!
Saturday continued with the adventure. I dropped Coco off at the groomer and then went for a haircut myself. I don’t know what overcame me, but I had it cut into a boyish-bob. Think Karen Duffy. I’ll have DH get a picture of it. It’s super cute for sure and I hope easy to do. I then went to the gym where I met my friend Leah for a workout, then it lunch and a Scentsy party, which I got the cutest candle. I can’t wait for that to get here. One of the smells reminded me of a sheep and wool festival.
Today, we had waffles and relaxed. DH also had books from my wish list along with the EZ video I’d been coveting.
I’ve been playing with my gifts and we’re just going to go to dinner tonight at JMK a Japanese resturant. Whew! It’s been a lot of fun. This is actually Sunday sky as by the time we got home from dinner last night it was too dark.

Happy Birthday!!
Happy Birthday! Did the fold have any multi colored roving that was mostly yellow. I have purple for a asweater for Amanda but need a yellow mix for Meg. Sounds like you had a great time all weekend.
happy birthday!
Hippo Birdies to youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu, dear Mme Purl. Sorry to be late. It looks like it was wonderful. Have a great holiday as well. Missing you.
Happy Birthday Rose! Sorry I’m late (was busy celebrating my daughter’s bd). Love the new do, the new you. Your special day was perfect.
happy belated birthday!!! For some strange reason this post only popped up today… after the hair picture one
Looks like you got lovely stuff… I’m very jealous of all that roving… what are you going to do with it? I would make a sweater (cuff-to-cuff) with it I think… going from that light green, over pink to the dark purple… or even that famous Kauni cardi would look gorgeous using those colors hehehe.
Cheers Eva
