Over the weekend I decided I needed to spin some of Pia’s wool into yarn for a rib warmer – pattern by EZ. I wanted it just to be fun and funky since it’s such a simple knit. While I was at Julie’s I quickly persused through her copy of Spinning for Softness and Speed and thought I would try a couple of those tricks. I spun each bobbin in about 1 hour and the yarn will end up either a heavy worsted or a light bulky. So in 4 hours this weekend – 4 bobbins produced. Now to the plying. I need anywhere from 400 to 700 yards from what I see on Ravelry, so I imagine 4 more bobbins will be necessary with this technique.
We all know our love of Ravelry, but have you all also seen Craftster? What I love about Craftster is all of the other crafts as well – embroidery, bead making, soap making, cooking – it seems anything creative is represented. I love their little challenges. I’m totally drooling over this embroidered pillowcases. I wonder why I get nothing done – I’m so busy surfing.

The singles just glow, that’s going to be some gorgeous yarn!
It is just beautiful!
Thanks for letting us know about craftster but man … I really don’t need any MORE impetus for other crafts right now! wink wink)
