A Model Shot

Jackie requested a shot of the Firebird socks being modeled. I totally need to oblige as I realized we couldn’t see the delightful pattern on the top. I think I may have made the feet a repeat to large, but that’s ok. One wash trip and that should do. I have to say the short row heel is not my favorite fit wise, but is my favorite looks wise.

So, my basic on the go knitting project is now a little pumpkin hat for my cousin. I’d show you but my camera battery is charging. Tomorrow. As if that wasn’t enough look what I bought.

I know a cake carrier. We’re have a little Stitch ‘n Bitch at a LYS tomorrow and I said I’d bake a bundt cake with my new Fleur de Lis bundt pan. I’ll have to let you know how it turns out.

Finally I found out about the learning exchange at the HGA. This one coming up for spinning is either Bamboo or Alpaca. I put Alpaca first and Bamboo as my second, but I would love to do both. I don’t believe you can do both – it asked you to pick one, so I filled out my form and sent it in. They will also give you a bit of critic on your spinning. I’m looking forward to that as my eventual goal is to go for the spinning certificate of excellence at some point. No time soon. Maybe 2011. If anything I would like to do the Master knitting program first.

  • Congratulations on the beautiful socks!

And you ought to get into Ravelry in the next day or two. I hope you didn’t have anything time consuming planned for the weekend…

  • Great socks!

I hope you enjoy Ravelry. I’ve been on for ages but I’m just getting ready to post my third project. I’m too busy drooling over other people’s stuff. (The forums are fantastic, too. Check them out!!!)

Thanks for the modeled picture! Love the colorway and the pattern, it does show much better on your feet. :)
